Designing Schedules for Improved Resident Performance
Reduction of health care provider work hours has proven challenging for a variety of reasons. Few data exist on precisely how to reschedule a limited number of providers, or alternatively, how to train and hire more providers in order to safely reduce work hours. Traditional 24-hour work shifts represent an urgent risk to patients and providers alike, many concerns remain about how to change existing systems. This website provides a toolkit for designing modified resident schedules to combat fatigue and improve resident performance.
